Belle Epoque 2002-2006

Belle Epoque were a short-lived (it seemed) but brilliant French post-hardcore/screamo outfit from 2002-2006. Despite only releasing a handful of brief but beautifully packaged EPs and 7"s they carved a rather nice little niche for themselves with a lo-fi sound that's snugly nestled alongside Sofa, Rodan, and Envy.

At one end of the scale, singer Morgan's vocals exuded an exceedingly cool lassez faire nonchalance (how French, I hear you say). Yet within a second, could turn into to the sound of a painfully thin man whose just stepped out of his cave and gone berserk at how simultaneously beautiful and horrifying the twenty first century truly is.

I think I heard somewhere that they broke up to all become teachers in Spain or something. But whatever the members got up to since they split, they've generously made their legacy (yes, all 45 minutes of it) available for online for you to enjoy and trasure for free. As the band themselves put it: "Now Belle Epoque is not ours anymore. You can do whatever you want out of it."

Go crazy, get it from the link below.
